About the Program

As part of B.C.’s growing capacity to conduct high-quality research related to cardiovascular disease, the Cardiovascular Health Program (ICVHealth) at Advancing Health aims not only to create new knowledge, but also to work closely with policymakers, clinical leaders, and patient partners to facilitate the application of new knowledge to change practice and improve health.

The Cardiovascular Health Program (ICVHealth), formerly known as the BC Centre for Improved Cardiovascular Health, was created to understand and improve the cardiovascular health of British Columbians through the generation and application of high-quality outcomes evidence.

Additional Information

With core competencies in the linkage of clinical and administrative data, the development and utilization of cutting-edge evaluation methods, and the use of technology to support shared-decision making between patients and providers, the Cardiovascular Health team works collaboratively to bring about evidence for a change in the heart of Vancouver.

Additionally, the Program has been particularly responsive to the demand for personalized medicine — the idea that health management and treatment decision-making should be based on an individual’s unique personal characteristics and desired outcomes. This concept is the driving force behind numerous grant-funded studies and will continue to play a key role in the program’s future undertakings.
