CHSPR Seminar | The Impact of BC’s Contraception Subsidy: An Interrupted Time Series Analysis

December 17 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Speakers: Laura Schummers and Michael Law, University of BC

BC introduced Canada’s first universal no-cost contraception subsidy in 2023. This study estimates the effect of this subsidy on contraception use and out-of-pocket costs for prescription contraception. We will demonstrate their application using real-world databases to address challenges such as residual confounding and model misspecification.

Laura Schummers is an Assistant Professor of Health Outcomes at the Collaboration for Outcomes Research and Evaluation in the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Michael Law holds the Canada Research Chair in Access to Medicines at the UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research, in the School of Population and Public Health.

This is a hybrid event, you may attend in person or virtually. Attendees must register and indicate their preference.
