COVID-19
Advancing Health investigators and research support staff are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Current projects include examining mental wellness during a pandemic, the impact of school disruptions, treatment options for COVID-19 and identifying workplace risks that may increase the risk of transmission to paramedics. Our investigators have also shared their expertise in a number of areas related to the pandemic.

Improving Care
Advancing Health is active in a number of clinical research areas focused in improving patient care. In addition to cardiology, mental health, nephrology, critical care, and HIV research, our investigators undertake studies involving older adults and those who are critically or chronically ill, with the goal of reducing morbidity and mortality and enhancing quality of life. We do this in two main ways: by putting patients first and informing practice.

Informing Policy
Advancing Health investigators are at the forefront of health outcomes research, including health economics, pharmacoeconomics and patient-reported outcomes. Their work evaluates the effectiveness of health interventions in populations to inform policies, transforming health systems at the local, national and international levels in the future.
