CHÉOS investigators are involved in 4 of the 22 projects that received funding through CIHR’s eHealth Innovation Partnership Program (eHIPP), the first phase of the eHealth Innovations Initiative. eHIPP aims to stimulate the design, testing, evaluation, and integration of evidence-based and patient-centered eHealth solutions.
Dr. Eric Grafstein is a Principal Investigator on a project that will create and evaluate a reporting platform for adverse drug events on PharmaNet in B.C. He is also a Co-Investigator with fellow CHÉOS Scientist Hubert Wong on the TEC4Home project, which will use telehealth tools to monitor seniors recovering at home.
Drs. Martha Mackay and Joel Singer are working with Principal Investigator Dr. Scott Lear from the Centre for Heart and Lung Innovation to evaluate a new application for supporting heart disease patients through peer support in order to improve self-care and reduce hospitalizations.
Finally, CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Rick Sawatzky is the Principal Investigator, with Scientists Drs. Peter Dodek and Anne Gadermann as Co-Investigators, on a study to improve patient and family caregiver quality of life (QoL) and the efficacy of the health care system. The researchers aim to achieve this by studying the implementation and integration of the Quality of Life Assessment and Practice Support System tool into routine home care for older adults and their family caregivers.
