Maria Teresa Arcila Rivera

Research Assistant

Maria Teresa is an MSc student at the University of British Columbia’s School of Population and Public Health and a Research Assistant for Dr. Eugenia Oviedo-Joekes, working on the Program of Outcomes Research on Treatment with Injectables for Addiction (PORTIA). 

Maria Teresa is a physician, having graduated in Colombia, with a strong background in chronic disease management. She has always been passionate about advancing healthcare through research, particularly in the fields of addiction treatment and public health. With experience in clinical settings, she brings a unique perspective to her research, aiming to improve treatment outcomes for vulnerable populations. Outside of work, Maria Teresa enjoys attending concerts, exploring new genres of music, and spending time in nature.
